
Each decoiler and recoiler manufactured by hpl-Neugnadenfelder Maschinenfabrik GmbH offers the perfect combination of precision, heavy-duty robustness and energy efficiency. They are specifically designed to support production processes in the steel and non-ferrous metal industries by ensuring the safe and reliable decoiling and recoiling of coils and strips.
A typical decoiler or recoiler is built with a shifting unit, base frame, drive train and a decoiling or recoiling mandrel. The mandrel forms the central coil clamping and expanding unit, guaranteeing secure handling of steel and non-ferrous coils during the unwinding and rewinding process.
In addition, we offer a wide range of customer-specific adaptations tailored to your production requirements. Our optional additional equipment includes, among other things, fully integrated sensor systems, actuators, hydraulic controls and terminal boxes. Any form of customization is possible – such as the integration of a hold-down arm, a coil pusher or other coil handling solutions.

Our decoilers and recoilers feature a robust and flexible design that reliably withstands the high loads and forces typical of the steel industry. Coil weights ranging from 10 kg up to 45 tons and coil diameters from 150 to 2,200 mm are handled safely and efficiently by our coil handling systems. Thanks to their ergonomic design, our decoilers and recoilers are easy to operate and maintain, helping to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
A precisely engineered drive power configuration, tailored to the specific requirements of your production, is part of our standard delivery program and ensures a reliable and controlled production process. With both motor and generator operation, our coiling systems for steel and non-ferrous materials enable energy recovery, significantly reducing operating costs.
At the same time, we ensure the highest safety standards in coil handling operations. Redundant safety systems such as hydraulic safety devices, strip retaining rolls and integrated sensor technology are incorporated during the design phase to reliably protect operators from accidents.

The coiling systems from hpl-Neugnadenfelder Maschinenfabrik GmbH are designed for maximum flexibility. The diameters of the coiling mandrels are individually adapted to your requirements, enabling the efficient processing of different materials and products. The use of add-on mandrel segments or exchangeable heads allows for quick adjustments to different coil diameters.
Safe coil loading and unloading is ensured by the mandrel expansion and hold-down arms, which minimize the risk of operator injury as well as damage to the strip material and the machine – both in single-strip and multi-strip operation.
A hydraulic or motor-driven shifting unit ensures perfectly aligned coil edges, which is especially important for the material’s further processing in downstream production lines.
In addition, the systems can be expanded with a paper winding unit at any time, providing maximum flexibility for your production range.
