Looper Car

For operators of continuous strip processing lines with a strip accumulator (loop pit), the hpl looper car (also known as a loop car) is the ideal solution to provide the required strip length during coil change. While one end of the strip is stopped in the decoiling or recoiling area, the strip is fed continuously through the process section – a situation that requires sufficient strip accumulation length for safe handling. The hpl looper car provides this additional strip length by forming double or multiple loops.

The hpl looper car can be retrofitted into existing processing lines and represents an excellent alternative to a loop tower accumulator, particularly when existing loop pits cannot be deepened due to floor conditions.

Our control concept is based on a variety of sensor systems, including height control via light-barrier combinations as well as ultrasonic and distance sensors, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.

To prevent equipment and strip damage, we have integrated a preventive strip break detection system, which minimizes the risk of production downtime and ensures a smooth and efficient line operation. The synchronized drive motors of the carriage rolls provide consistent and efficient movement. In addition, optical and/or acoustic loop warnings ensure that operators are alerted in time to potential disturbances.
