Technology That Convinces

Our scrap choppers combine robust mechanics with modern control technology and precise edge trim guidance.
Two cutting heads are driven via a shared gearbox system – reducing energy consumption by up to 50% while maintaining consistently high cutting quality.

The servo-controlled knife gap adjustment automatically adapts the knife clearance to the respective strip thickness – fast, precise, and without manual intervention. This significantly reduces set-up time and ensures a precise, low-wear cutting process.

Synchronized drives ensure consistent edge trim guidance and stable strip tension – even with strip thicknesses from 0.6 to 6 mm, strip widths up to about 1,850 mm and line speeds up to 300 m/min. At the same time, our systems process all common ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum and copper as well as coated or alloyed materials.

Thanks to their compact design, hpl scrap choppers are particularly suitable for retrofits in space-restricted line areas. Existing conveyor or scrap suction (extraction) systems can be seamlessly integrated – without extensive modifications or long downtimes.
